Derek, I wouldn’t take those “facts” at face value, if I were you. I hope that in your feminist blog reading you’ve encountered some of the wonderful sex workers’ rights activism blogs, and can see why most of those “facts” are problematic at best and damaging at worst.

I’m certainly cautious about a lot of “facts,” but perhaps I wasn’t being as cautious as I should be about these. I’m aware that some people’s responses to sex work and pornography work to other women in those industries and do more harm than good, though. If you have the time, could you direct me to some good sex workers’ rights blogs? I’ve been writing for just over a year now, but I’ve only just started really exploring the feminist blogosphere.
